About the Artist
Ankita Sikari Sunuwar (b. 1998, Lalitpur, Nepal) is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, tattooing, and digital media. Her practice is rooted in spiritual iconography and traditional Nepali paubha, developed through early training under Ram Prakash Shrestha. She translates these sacred visual languages into contemporary forms through both fine art and tattooing, where she specializes in realism and detailed, narrative-driven work. She currently tattoos professionally at Karma Tattoo in Kingston, NY.
She holds a BFA from Lalitkala Campus, Tribhuvan University, and an MFA in Painting/Drawing from State University of New York at New Paltz. Her work exists at the intersection of heritage and modernity, where traditional Nepali aesthetics are reimagined through canvas, skin, and digital space..
